Google Search Console Bulk Indexing Status / Bulk Indexing Request using Google Sheets

With this Google Sheet, you can check the indexing status of bulk URLs on Google Search Console. Also, you can request the indexing of bulk URLs in the Google Search Console. Additionally, it can extract URLs from Sitemaps.

You must watch this video before getting this: https://youtu.be/uxkBD7oGxac

It uses the 'Google Search Console API' to check the indexing status and the 'Web Search Indexing API' to request bulk indexing of URLs. You need to get these two APIs on the Google Cloud console.

Features:

1. URL extraction from sitemap: Enter a sitemap URL in cell A3  on sheet 'SitemapURL' and click the 'Extract URLs from Sitemap' button to extract the URLs and titles. This is optional. You can manually add the URLs in column B to check for the indexing status.

2. Check Indexing Status for Bulk URLs: To check the indexing status of bulk URLs, enter the URLs in column B. Select the domain property type (domain/URL prefix) on cell A8. Enter the site URL on cell A11. Hit the 'URL Indexing Status.' Wait for a while. It will check the status, and when it is finished, you can see the results on the 'URL-Indexing-Report.'

Ensure you run the Google Sheet with the same Google account you use for Google Search Console.

Ensure you have less than 40 URLs in column B while checking for indexing status.

The data you get here:

  • Page Fetch Status: Is the URL status fetching successful or not?
  • Coverage Status: The current status of Google Search Console, such as whether it is indexed, crawled, Discovered, etc.
  • Indexing Allowed/Not Allowed: If the Google Search console allows indexing of the URL,
  • Last Crawl Date & Time: The URL's last crawl date and time by Google.
  • Google Canonical URL: This is the canonical URL Google set for the page. This is not the canonical URL you set for a page.
  • Robots TXT State: If indexing is allowed on the Robots.txt file for the page.
  • Sitemap: On which sitemap did Google find the page.

3. Request Indexing for Bulk URLs: On the third sheet, you can request indexing of bulk URLs. Here, you need to enter the URLs in column A, then click on the button 'Request Indexing.' There is no limit; you can enter as many URLs as you like to request indexing. You will see the indexing status in column B.

Only owners of the Google search console property can request indexing. If you are not an owner of the property, you can request indexing using this Google Sheet.

It uses Google AppScript to work behind the scenes. Your data is safe; this Google Sheet doesn't collect any data.
